Maxim Street Playgroup is a multicultural playgroup where children in the West Ryde area can have a fun time and engage in many different learning activities. Maxim Street playgroup is also a place where parents/ grandparents/other carers meet to socialise and engage with the local community. Playgroup participants come from many different cultural backgrounds which include Australian, Korean, Chinese, South African, Mexican, Lebanese, Indian, English and Filipino. Children who attend our multicultural playgroup will be well prepared for school as they will be very accustomed to making friends and working with other children from different cultural backgrounds.


Our playgroup is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who all have their Working with Children Check(WWCC) who have varied backgrounds such as:

  • English language teaching
  • Art and craft qualifications and teaching experience
  • Musical teaching background
  • Early childhood training
  • Experience in working in a childcare facility


We are located less than five minutes walk from West Ryde Station, and bus stops along Victoria Road. Parking is available on site and on nearby streets.
